Information and general conditions

The person who participates or contemplates taking part in a Global Spirit project or program will be further referred to as ‘the volunteer’.

1. Global Spirit mediates between the project and the volunteer

Global Spirit offers volunteer trips on behalf of the projects and mediates in the formation of agreements between the volunteer and a project for these volunteer trips. By sending to Global Spirit a booking form, the volunteer makes an irrevocable offer to the project to participate in the project to which the registration relates. Global Spirit informs the project whether the volunteer’s offer will be accepted by the project. If the project accepts the volunteer’s offer, Global Spirit will communicate this on behalf of the project. Global Spirit will send the volunteer all further details as well as an invoice.

2. data provision and indemnity

The volunteer declares that the information he / she provides to Global Spirit in connection with the registration is correct, complete and unreserved. Global Spirit is in no way liable for damage that could result from the provision of incorrect, incomplete or conditional information provided by the volunteer. Volunteer indemnifies Global Spirit for such liability. Data is treated confidentially by Global Spirit and used for no other purpose than that for which it was given. 3. exclusion of liability

Global Spirit only mediates in the formation of an agreement between a volunteer and a project. Global Spirit is in no way liable for a shortcoming in the performance in the agreement between the volunteer and the project, as well as for any resulting damage.

4. insurance

The volunteer is required by the project to take out travel insurance. This travel insurance must include full coverage for accidents and medical expenses. The volunteer must take care of such an adequate insurance. The volunteer can choose to take out travel insurance through Global Spirit. Global Spirit offers insurance from Europeesche Verzekeringen. On the registration forms you can indicate whether you use this insurance. More information and the premium amounts can be found via the links on the booking form. It is recommended to take out cancellation insurance. You can also take out this insurance yourself or take out Global Spirit at Europeesche Verzekeringen. 5. payment terms

As soon as the agreement has been established by acceptance on behalf of the project, the volunteer will immediately owe a deposit of 35% of the travel sum (without insurance), with a minimum of € 100, -. No later than 6 weeks before departure, the remainder of the fare due must be on the account of Global Spirit. If the agreement is concluded within 6 weeks before departure, the entire travel sum will have to be paid immediately. The amount due must then be transferred to Global Spirit as a matter of urgency.

As soon as the agreement has been concluded by acceptance on behalf of the project and the volunteer has taken out travel and / or cancellation insurance via Global Spirit with the European Insurance Company, the volunteer will immediately owe the insurance premium (s).

The following projects have a different payment arrangement:

Donkeys in Greece: No deposit is paid for this project, but the volunteer must immediately pay the full travel sum to Global Spirit as soon as the contract has been concluded by acceptance on behalf of the project.

Sea turtles in Greece: No deposit is paid for this project, but the volunteer must immediately pay the full travel sum to Global Spirit as soon as the contract has been concluded by acceptance on behalf of the project.

Whales and dolphins in Italy: With this project, no deposit is made, but the volunteer must immediately pay the full travel sum to Global Spirit as soon as the contract has been concluded by acceptance on behalf of the project.

Adriatic dolphins in Croatia: This project does not pay a deposit, but the volunteer must immediately pay the full travel sum to Global Spirit as soon as the contract has been concluded by acceptance on behalf of the project.

Marine Adventure including whales and dolphins in South Africa: Once the agreement has been established by acceptance on behalf of the project, the volunteer will owe a deposit of 50% of the travel sum (without insurance). No later than 8 weeks before departure, the remainder of the fare due must be on the account of Global Spirit. If the agreement is concluded within 8 weeks before departure, the entire travel sum will immediately have to be paid by the volunteer. The amount due must then be transferred to Global Spirit as a matter of urgency.

Asian elephants in Thailand: With this project, no deposit is made, but the volunteer must immediately pay the full travel sum to Global Spirit as soon as the contract has been concluded by acceptance on behalf of the project.

Animals and children in South Africa: As soon as the contract has been concluded by acceptance on behalf of the project, the volunteer owes a deposit of 75% of the travel sum (without insurance). No later than 3 months before departure, the remainder of the fare due must be on Global Spirit’s account. If the agreement is concluded within 3 months before departure, the entire travel sum will immediately have to be paid by the volunteer. The amount due must then be transferred to Global Spirit as a matter of urgency.

Wolves in Portugal: Once the agreement has been established by acceptance on behalf of the project, the volunteer will owe a deposit of 35% of the travel sum (without insurance). No later than 9 weeks before departure, the remainder of the fare due must be on the account of Global Spirit. If the agreement is concluded within 9 weeks before departure, the entire travel sum will immediately have to be paid by the volunteer. The amount due must then be transferred to Global Spirit as a matter of urgency.

Horses in South Africa: As soon as the contract has been concluded by acceptance on behalf of the project, the volunteer will owe a deposit of 35% of the travel sum (without insurance). No later than 8 weeks before departure, the remainder of the fare due must be on the account of Global Spirit. If the agreement is concluded within 8 weeks before departure, the entire travel sum will immediately have to be paid by the volunteer. The amount due must then be transferred to Global Spirit as a matter of urgency.

The following applies to these projects: As soon as the agreement has been concluded by acceptance on behalf of the project and the volunteer has taken out travel and / or cancellation insurance via Global Spirit with the European Insurance Company, the volunteer will immediately owe the insurance premium (s).

6. late payments

In case the agreement comes about within 6 weeks before departure, the entire travel sum is due immediately. In other cases Global Spirit sends an invoice to the volunteer. There is a final payment date on the invoice. If Global Spirit has not received the invoice amount on this date, then the volunteer is in default without a notice of default being necessary. From this date, the volunteer owes a contractual interest of 10% per annum on the outstanding amount. Global Spirit is also entitled to charge extrajudicial collection costs if it has the claim off your hands. The collection costs are at least € 150, -.

7. cancellation policy

  • If a volunteer cancels before the agreement is made between the volunteer and the project, cancellation costs of € 25.00 are due;
  • If the volunteer cancels the contract in the period from the conclusion of the booking to the 42nd day before the day of departure, the volunteer will owe the down payment (35% of the travel sum with a minimum of € 100.00);
  • If the volunteer cancels the contract in the period from the 42nd day (inclusive) before departure until the 28th day before the day of departure, the volunteer will owe 50% of the travel sum;
  • If the volunteer cancels the contract in the period from the 28th day (inclusive) before departure until the 14th day before the day of departure, the volunteer owes 75% of the travel sum;
  • If the volunteer cancels the contract in the period from the 14th day (inclusive) before departure up to and including the day of departure and later, the volunteer owes 100% of the travel sum;
  • If the volunteer cancels and has taken out travel and / or cancellation insurance through Global Spirit with the Europeesche Verzekeringen, the volunteer will owe the premium (s) not yet paid.

Note: different conditions apply to the following projects:

Donkeys in Greece: If a volunteer cancels before the agreement is made between the volunteer and the project, cancellation costs of € 25.00 are due;
If the volunteer cancels the contract in the period from the conclusion of the booking until the day of departure up to and including the day of departure and later, the volunteer is due 100% of the travel sum.

Whales and dolphins in Italy: If a volunteer cancels before the agreement is made between the volunteer and the project, cancellation costs of € 25.00 are due;
If the volunteer cancels the contract in the period from the conclusion of the booking until the 30th day before the day of departure, the volunteer is due 20% of the travel sum. If the volunteer cancels the contract in the period from the 30th day (inclusive) before departure up to and including the day of departure and later, the volunteer owes 100% of the travel sum.

Adriatic dolphins in Croatia: If a volunteer cancels before the agreement is made between the volunteer and the project, cancellation costs of € 25.00 are due;
If the volunteer cancels the contract in the period from the conclusion of the booking until the 30th day before the day of departure, the volunteer is due 20% of the travel sum. If the volunteer cancels the contract in the period from the 30th day (inclusive) before departure up to and including the day of departure and later, the volunteer owes 100% of the travel sum.

Marine Adventure including whales and dolphins in South Africa: If a volunteer cancels before the agreement is concluded between the volunteer and the project, cancellation costs of € 25.00 are due;
If the volunteer cancels the contract in the period from the conclusion of the booking to the 30th day before the day of departure, the volunteer will owe 50% of the travel sum. If the volunteer cancels the contract in the period from the 30th day (inclusive) before departure up to and including the day of departure and later, the volunteer owes 100% of the travel sum.

Animals and children in South Africa: If a volunteer cancels before the agreement is made between the volunteer and the project, cancellation costs of € 25.00 are due;
If the volunteer cancels the contract in the period from the conclusion of the booking to 3 months before the day of departure, the volunteer will owe 75% of the travel sum. If the volunteer cancels the contract in the period from 3 months before departure until the day of departure and later, the volunteer is due 100% of the travel sum.

Wolves in Portugal: If a volunteer cancels before the agreement is concluded between the volunteer and the project, cancellation costs of € 25.00 are due;
If the volunteer cancels the contract in the period from the conclusion of the booking to the 60th day before the day of departure, the volunteer will owe 50% of the travel sum. If the volunteer cancels the contract in the period from the 60th day (inclusive) before departure until the 30th day before the day of departure, the volunteer owes 75% of the travel sum. If the volunteer cancels the contract in the period from the 30th day (inclusive) before departure up to and including the day of departure and later, the volunteer owes 100% of the travel sum.

Horses in South Africa: If a volunteer cancels before the agreement is made between the volunteer and the project, cancellation costs of € 25.00 are due;
If the volunteer cancels the contract in the period from the conclusion of the booking to the 30th day before the day of departure, the volunteer will owe 50% of the travel sum. If the volunteer cancels the contract in the period from the 30th day (inclusive) before departure up to and including the day of departure and later, the volunteer owes 100% of the travel sum.

The following applies to all these projects: If the volunteer cancels and has a travel and / or cancellation insurance with Global Spirit at the Europeesche Verzekeringen, the volunteer will owe the premium(s) not yet paid. General: Cancellation must always be made in writing, stating the reason.

8. passport / identity card, visa

In our extensive information (for each project made up) general information is given about passport / identity card and visa. The volunteer is responsible for being in possession of a valid passport or identity card and any required visas at departure and during the trip. In doing so, it is necessary to check in time before departure and start to check whether previously obtained information is correct at, for example, the embassy. Should the volunteer not be admitted on arrival abroad in case he / she is not in possession of the necessary relevant passport / identity card and any necessary visas, this is at the volunteer’s own responsibility and Global Spirit can not be held liable for this.

9. health and vaccinations

In our extensive information (for each project made up) general information is given about medical information and vaccinations. The volunteer is responsible for taking care of the required vaccinations and / or other required data for participation in the project in good time before departure and participation. If the volunteer has not had the necessary vaccinations and / or other required information in time and sent them or has not had them at all and sent them, the project may still refuse the volunteer to participate. Global Spirit can not be held liable for this as well as the resulting costs.

For different countries, advice and prescriptions apply in the area of ​​health and vaccinations and can also be changed shortly before departure. The volunteer is responsible for collecting medical information in good time before departure and starts participating in, for example, a GGD, GP or vaccination clinic. Global Spirit can not be held liable for this.

10. various provisions and force majeure

Transport to and from the project destination is at the expense of the volunteer.

The participation costs can be changed at any time of the year. Participants who have already booked before a change will pay the participation fee shown at the time of the booking.

  • If Global Spirit is prevented due to force majeure and the agreement can not be fulfilled by this, Global Spirit will certainly consider a solution. Global Spirit can not be held responsible or liable for this, as well as for any resulting costs.
  • If there is a situation of force majeure, we also refer the volunteer to his / her travel and any cancellation insurance and the applicable conditions.
  • If there is a situation of force majeure, Global Spirit is authorized to dissolve the agreement for the non-executable part by means of a written statement / e-mail message.
  • As a force majeure situation will include among other things: war, danger of war, natural disasters, desease/like virus outbreak, fire, accident or illness of personnel, disruptive legal provisions and rules, business malfunction, and any other circumstance that is not exclusively dependent on the will of Global Spirit.
